Gold Ridge Firefighters Endorse Four Candidates for Fire District Director

Four seats are open on Nov. 3, 2026. Gold Ridge firefighters endorse Christina Gibbs, Shannon Shaffer-Killey, Kathleen Molloy Gilbraith and Bob Gloeckner, and ask you to vote for all four.

Christina Gibbs

Christina Gibbs

Gold Ridge Firefighters are proud to endorse Christina Gibbs for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Christina understands the fire service because she has lived it. Her connection to our area goes back to summers spent at her family’s home in Camp Meeker, and her career in public service began right here at the CAL FIRE Occidental Station.

From there, Christina earned her EMT license, worked on a critical care unit with American Medical Response, volunteered with the San Francisco Fire Reserves, and in 1999 began a 27-year career with the San Francisco Fire Department. She rose through the ranks to Captain while earning certifications as a Hazardous Materials Specialist, Heavy Rescue technician, Peer Support member, and K9 Handler.

Just as important to us is Christina’s commitment to the people behind the badge. Christina and her fire therapy dog, Sadie, became the first K9 team deployed to a major Northern California wildfire to support the emotional wellbeing of firefighters.

Christina knows what firefighters face because she has stood alongside them. Her career has given her firsthand knowledge of the training, resources, leadership, and support firefighters need to safely serve their communities.

Christina’s interest in serving Gold Ridge comes from a lifelong commitment to public service and a desire to protect one of our district’s most important resources: the health and safety of its firefighters.

We believe our Fire District Board needs leaders who understand both the responsibility of protecting our community and the realities facing the firefighters who answer its calls every day.

That is why Gold Ridge Firefighters proudly endorse Christina Gibbs for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Shannon Shaffer-Killey

Shannon Shaffer-Killey

Gold Ridge Firefighters are proud to endorse Shannon Shaffer-Killey for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Shannon’s connection to our community and the fire service runs deep. Born and raised in Bodega as a ranch kid, she grew up with the values that define our communities: work hard, help your neighbors, and be there when someone needs you.

For Shannon, the firehouse was part of that upbringing. Both of her parents volunteered with the fire department, and in late 2003, Shannon followed in their footsteps and joined the fire service herself.

Her commitment to serving our area extends beyond the firehouse. Shannon spent 10 years with West County Health Centers, where she got to know people throughout much of the area Gold Ridge serves. She continued her education at Santa Rosa Junior College and Mendocino College before earning a bachelor’s degree in Leadership Studies from Humboldt State University.

Today, Shannon serves as a Deputy Fire Marshal for the City of Berkeley, overseeing Fire Prevention. Her responsibilities include inspections, development review, code enforcement, policy, and the wide range of challenges that come through a fire prevention office.

Shannon understands the fire service, and she understands this community because both have been part of her life from the beginning. She brings professional fire prevention experience and leadership along with a strong personal connection to the community she calls home.

Although her career has taken her to Berkeley, Shannon’s roots remain here. She raised her daughter here, and her family, friends, and community ties continue to be an important part of her life.

We believe our Fire District Board needs leaders who understand our community, respect the work of our firefighters, and recognize the importance of strong, reliable fire and emergency services.

That is why Gold Ridge Firefighters proudly endorse Shannon Shaffer-Killey for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Kathleen Molloy Gilbraith

Kathleen Molloy Gilbraith

Gold Ridge Firefighters are proud to endorse Kathleen Molloy Gilbraith for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Kathleen brings nearly three decades of fire service experience and a strong history of involvement in the issues affecting firefighters. She retired from the San Francisco Fire Department after 28 years of service, with experience as a firefighter/paramedic, inspector, and Lieutenant of Inspectors.

From 2010 to 2014, Kathleen served on the Board of Directors of IAFF Local 798. During that time, she attended International Association of Fire Fighters conferences and gained firsthand experience with the role strong leadership can play in supporting firefighters and fire departments.

Throughout her career, Kathleen also served on numerous committees, including the committee that managed the merger of the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s ambulance service into the San Francisco Fire Department.

Kathleen understands the fire service from multiple perspectives. She has worked on the front lines as a firefighter/paramedic, in fire prevention as an inspector and Lieutenant of Inspectors, and on behalf of fellow firefighters as a Local 798 board member.

Her commitment to service has continued here in the Sebastopol community. Kathleen has volunteered with the Analy High School Boosters, works as a lifeguard at Ives Pool and teaches swimming during the summer. She also volunteers at the Bouverie Preserve and Martin Griffin Preserve, leading local third through fifth graders on nature walks that include lessons about fire and fire safety.

We believe our Fire District Board needs leaders who understand the fire service, value the people who provide it, and bring meaningful public service experience to the decisions affecting our district.

That is why Gold Ridge Firefighters proudly endorse Kathleen Molloy Gilbraith for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Bob Gloeckner

Bob Gloeckner

Gold Ridge Firefighters are proud to endorse Bob Gloeckner for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Bob brings a combination of deep local roots, professional fire service leadership, business experience, and experience serving on the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

A third-generation resident of the Hessel area of Sonoma County, Bob has spent his life connected to the community he serves. He earned an associate degree from Santa Rosa Junior College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sacramento State University.

Bob served with the City of Petaluma Fire Department for 31 years, including 18 years as a Battalion Chief. In addition to his fire service career, he has been involved in ranching and real estate investments since 1970.

That combination of professional fire service and business experience has helped shape Bob’s approach to his service on the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.

Bob points to the district’s reorganizations since 1993, which he says reduced management and operational costs and increased around-the-clock, on-duty staffing, shortening emergency response times.

Bob understands that responsible management of district resources and strong emergency services go hand in hand. His experience as both a chief officer and businessperson gives him a valuable perspective on the operational and financial decisions facing a fire district.

We believe experience and continuity matter as Gold Ridge continues to move forward. Bob understands our community, understands the fire service, and brings years of experience to the decisions that affect our firefighters and the residents we serve.

That is why Gold Ridge Firefighters proudly endorse Bob Gloeckner for the Gold Ridge Fire District Board.
