Gold Ridge Fire Protection District

The firefighters who serve the Gold Ridge Fire Protection District protect the communities of Hessel, Twin Hills, and Freestone through three stations.

The district was formed in 1993 when the fire districts of Hessel and Twin Hills merged.

The district is made up of 10 full-time employees and several part-time employees, who are supplemented by volunteers. Our firefighters cover three shifts by working a 48-hour shift followed by 96 hours off.

The firefighters we represent provide fire protection and EMS response across 75 square miles of rural Sebastopol and mutual aid to surrounding fire districts.
