Rancho Adobe

Rancho Adobe Protection District

The firefighters we represent from the Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District cover an area of about 86 square miles and serve about 28,000 people in Penngrove, Cotati, and unincorporated areas of Petaluma.

Located about 10 miles south of Santa Rosa, the district was formed in 1993 by a merger of the Cotati Fire Protection District and the Penngrove Fire Protection District.

Our members cover this area through three stations in Cotati, Penngrove, and Petaluma.

The district is a combination fire district with 13 full-time firefighters, engineers, captains, and battalion chiefs, and about two dozen part-time firefighters.

Our yearly emergency call volume has more than doubled since the merger as our firefighters responded to 2,750 calls for service.
